肩负着重要使命，大财团市之宫集团总裁的公子——某名门大学毕业生、现任集团代理社长的市之宫行（林遣都饰）驱车前往荒川区，准备动员居住在河床的底层民众搬离，为高档住宅区的建设铺平道路。可是他出师不利，刚刚进入荒川境内就被打扮怪异的女子和围着铁皮的小孩子打劫，还惨遭对方扒掉裤子。市之宫家的家训是“不求人，不欠人”，为此他独自爬桥去取裤子，最终跌落河中。恍惚间，他被自称来自金星的少女小珊（桐谷美玲饰）救了上来，为了报答小珊救命之恩，他答应和对方成为情侣。之后市之宫进入“蛮荒的”河川村，在和河童村长（小栗旬饰）、星星（山田孝之饰）、修女（成田优饰）等一群电波系怪人的相处中，阿行原本自负的心境悄悄发生着变化……本片根据中村光的同名漫画改编。
本片为刘家良自导自演，倪匡编剧，由刘家辉饰少年黄飞鸿，陈观泰饰陆阿采另有武打明星汪禹与李丽丽合演，故事描述黄祺英为洪熙官师弟陆阿采的弟子，为怕其儿飞鸿学武闯祸，拒传授武功给儿子，后飞鸿的武学热忱感动了捕头袁正，后传给陆，飞鸿终得陆为师，父子同师传为佳话。

当了二十多年支书的刘老根（赵本山饰）终于退休了，搬去城里大儿子家住得不大愉快，但也长了不少见识，决定回乡下发挥余热办度假村，小姨子丁香（高秀敏饰）和小儿子二奎（郭铁城饰）拦阻不过，只好由他去，对他颇有新意的丁香还成了他的左膀右臂，不过对城里来的帮手韩冰（王娟饰）颇为忌惮，担忧她与刘老根的暧昧关系。一番操持之下，龙泉山庄顺利开业，面临培训、管理、营销推广等重重考验，村里的能人药匣子（范伟饰）和大辣椒（李静饰）相继加入创业队伍，村民也响应刘老根召集的集资大会，打开局面、越来越火的龙泉山庄更是引来一些乡长、科长的刁难，加上大家时不时发作的小农习气，刘老根的创业经历着前所未有的挑战……
农民沈山旺（李国华 饰）有两个女儿，存妮（杨海莲 饰）和荒妹（沈丹萍 饰）。她们生活在物质和精神极其贫困的年代。在那个封建意识和极左猖獗的角落，爱情是绝不允许的。当存妮和同村的小豹子（张潮 饰）野地约会被“捉奸”，存妮含看无限羞愤跳塘自杀。憨厚质朴的小豹子则被控为“强奸致死人命罪”锒铛入狱。这给妹妹荒妹的心灵带来很大的创伤。和她青梅竹马的小伙子许荣树（张世会 饰）复员回到家乡，看到家乡依然贫穷落后，就努力想办法改变故乡的贫穷面貌。荒妹十分仰慕荣树，但一想到姐姐的悲惨命运，阴影又袭上她的心头。这时侯，她又看到本村青年英娣（杨秋复 饰）和二槐（夏峰 饰）自由恋爱，而英娣娘（金迪 饰）却不答应，让她同一个素不相识的男人结了婚，生活的非常不幸。目睹此情此景，荒妹的内心更加矛盾了，她该怎么办呢......
Somewhere in the remote region, the war ends. In the midst of ruined cities and houses in the streets, in rural hamlets, everywhere where people still live, are children who have lost their homes and parents. Abandoned, hungry, and in rags, defenseless and humiliated, they wander through the world. Hunger drives them. Little streams of orphans merge into a river which rushes forward and submerges everything in its path. The children do not know any feeling; they know only the world of their enemies. They fight, steal, struggle for a mouthful of food, and violence is merely a means to get it. A gang led by Cahoun finds a refuge in an abandoned castle and encounters an old composer who has voluntarily retired into solitude from a world of hatred, treason, and crime. How can they find a common ground, how can they become mutual friends The castle becomes their hiding place but possibly it will also be their first home which they may organize and must defend. But even for this, the price will be very high. To this simple story, the journalist, writer, poet, scriptwriter, movie director, and film theoretician Béla Balázs applied many years of experience. He and the director Géza Radványi created a work which opened a new postwar chapter in Hungarian film. Surprisingly, this film has not lost any of its impact over the years, especially on a profound philosophical level. That is to say, it is not merely a movie about war; it is not important in what location and in what period of time it takes place. It is a story outside of time about the joyless fate of children who pay dearly for the cruel war games of adults. At the time it was premiered, the movie was enthusiastically received by the critics. The main roles were taken by streetwise boys of a children's group who created their roles improvisationally in close contact with a few professional actors, and in the children's acting their own fresh experience of war's turmoil appears to be reflected. At the same time, their performance fits admirably into the mosaic of a very complex movie language. Balázs's influence revealed itself, above all, in the introductory sequences an air raid on an amusement park, seen in a montage of dramatic situations evoking the last spasms of war, where, undoubtedly, we discern the influence of classical Soviet cinematography. Shooting, the boy's escape, the locomotive's wheels, the shadows of soldiers with submachine guns, the sound of a whistle—the images are linked together in abrupt sequences in which varying shots and expressive sharp sounds are emphasized. A perfectly planned screenplay avoided all elements of sentimentality, time-worn stereotypes of wronged children, romanticism and cheap simplification. The authors succeeded in bridging the perilous dramatic abyss of the metamorphosis of a children's community. Their telling of the story (the scene of pillaging, the assault on the castle, etc) independently introduced some neorealist elements which, at that time, were being propagated in Italy by De Sica, Rossellini, and other film artists. The rebukes of contemporary critics, who called attention to formalism for its own sake have been forgotten. The masterly art of cameraman Barnabás Hegyi gives vitality to the poetic images. His angle shots of the children, his composition of scenes in the castle interior, are a living document of the times, and underline the atmosphere and the characters of the protagonists. The success of the picture was also enhanced by the musical art of composer Dénes Buday who, in tense situations, inserted the theme of the Marseilaise into the movie's structure, as a motive of community unification, as an expression of friendship and the possibility of understanding. Valahol Europaban is the first significant postwar Hungarian film. It originated in a relaxed atmosphere, replete with joy and euphoria, and it includes these elements in order to demonstrate the strength of humanism, tolerance, and friendship. It represents a general condemnation of war anywhere in the world, in any form.
